The miracle of growth

 

  

Many seeds have sprouted already. It´s always exciting to see the shoots raising from the mould. The good seeds sprout perfectly - they don't have any of their case left on top of the shoot. Until now I have sown globe artichoke, capsicums, sweet pepper and celeriac. The number of bright hours have increased in the Oulu area By now, but these small plants will still be needing a lot of artificial lightning for several months.

 

 

Today is a very sunny day and soon the dawn will most likely work as my alarm clock every morning. The Finnish Meteorological Institute announces on their website that today in the Oulu area the dawn was at 7:31 a.m. and sundown will occur at 5:32 p.m. Days get brighter quite quickly during March. On 20 March the number of light hours will be 12 already. It's so nice to know the growing season is on its way!
